Pine Acres is a camp site located along Rt. 322 in South Lebanon Township. This facility of St. Mark's is used by the congregation for such events as church picnics, retreats, and a children's camp. The land was acquired in 1959, and over the years developed into a multi-use natural setting with such items as a pavilion, pond, hiking trails, bunk houses, kitchen, play equipment, ball field, and volleyball and basketball courts. In addition to church functions, Pine Acres can be rented by individuals and outside groups for events and retreats. Click on the button below to learn more about the campsite.
St. Mark's, including both adults and youth, reach out to aid those in the community and other areas of the country to offer support where it is needed. Locally it could include landscaping at retirement homes and charity organizations, completing home projects for members who need assistance, preparing food and treats for volunteers of the community, or assisting in repairs of church facilities.
Mission trips are also taken to other areas of the country such as New York state, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Kentucky. These summer trips, in addition to helping those in need, allow participants to experience new cultures, learn new skills, and build stronger relationships among the members. Our church facilities are made available to various groups within the community as they also seek to serve others. Iglesia Casa Del Cordero or Church House of the Lamb, a Spanish Congregation, occupies a suite of community rooms for its worship experiences several times a week. They also use Fellowship Hall and kitchen on occasion as well as the main sanctuary. Others such as the Halcyon Activities Center holds it banquets here, Youth For Christ volunteers come regularly, and other organizations as their need arises.
NOON MEAL SITE
On the Second Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December, St. Mark's Church in Community Committee prepares and serves a noon meal in Fellowship Hall for those of the community who are in need of a warm meal. This is done in cooperation with Lebanon Christian Ministries, an organization who seeks to meet the needs of the less fortunate of the community.
Several neighborhood events are scheduled each year. Neighborhood parties are held at Easter and Christmas for children and their parents. In addition to lots of food, crafts, games, and entertainment are offered along with the message of the season. During the football season, a night is set aside after one of the games for the high schoolers to gather after the game to enjoy an evening of fellowship, food, and activities. Known as "The Fifth Quarter" this event provides a safe setting for the youth of Lebanon.
