PARKING
We have a parking lot adjacent to the church. This parking lot has two handicap-accessible parking spaces as well as a visitor space. In addition, we have a parking lot across from the church on the corner of North Eighth and Mifflin streets. Entrance to this lot is from Eighth Street. There is an additional handicap parking space on Monument Street next to the entrance to the parking lot. There is also street parking on North Eighth, Monument, Mifflin and Spruce streets. |
ENTRANCES
On Sunday mornings, there are two entrances. There is a main entrance at the corner of Eighth and Monument streets. This entrance does have steps both to get into the church and then to get up to the narthex. Off the parking lot adjacent to the church, there is a ramp that provides handicap accessibility to the building. There is an elevator in the building that allows access to all floors. |

WHAT TO WEAR
Dress as who you are and in what you feel comfortable. Because our members come from all walks of life, you will see everything from blue jeans to suits. God cares more about the state of your heart and spirit than what you are wearing.
OFFERING
While we do pass the offering plate at every service, we believe the offering is a voluntary act of stewardship, in gratitude for the gifts that God has given us. What anyone gives is a personal decision and not a duty or requirement. If you do choose to give a gift, you can be assured it will be used to share God’s work. We do also have online giving options available. Please see the online giving tab.
LENGTH OF WORSHIP
Our worship service typically lasts one hour. Before and after the service, we have coffee, juice and baked items to share as a fellowship time with one another.
TYPICAL WORSHIP SERVICE
Our service is a service of scripture, hymns and a message that relates the scriptures to our everyday lives. Special music is provided by one or more of our choirs. Music accompaniment is a pipe organ, piano or CD.
COMMUNION
All are welcome at God’s table, regardless of church membership or belief. While children that aren’t confirmed are not invited to commune, as children of God, they are invited to be blessed by the pastor as part of the Communion service. In addition, we recognize there is a need for gluten-free options. Communion is served the first Sunday in January, Easter Sunday, the first Sunday in June and the first Sunday in October. It may also be served on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Thanksgiving Eve.
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
We welcome children in worship with us! Each Sunday, we have a children’s message, for which children of all ages are invited up to the front of the sanctuary for an age-appropriate lesson. After the message is completed, children have the option to join their families in the pews for the rest of the service or to head to our Children’s Church (ages 3-10) or Child Care room. Visitors just need to follow the kids as they run to their next location.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
After the children's message during the church service, the children are dismissed from the service to attend Children's Church. Here they are taught Bible lessons, participate in stories, music and crafts, and enjoy snacks. Lay leaders present the children's message and direct the activities during Children's Church.
