Pastor: REV. DAVID A. JONES
Pastor Dave began his journey into ministry in 2002. Before he became a pastor, Dave worked in restaurants, loaded and unloaded tractor trailers, worked in landscaping, and worked at a printing company. When God's call into ministry became clear, Pastor Dave earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix (Pittsburgh Campus) and attended seminary at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio, where he earned a Masters of Divinity. Over the years, Pastor Dave has served as youth director/associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Irwin, Pennsylvania, as the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Jeannette, PA, and as student pastor at North Congregational United Church of Christ in Columbus, Ohio. Upon graduation from seminary in 2009, he served as a chaplain at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, before he accepted the call to be pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville, Ohio. He served Trinity UCC for 6 1/2 years until he accepted the call in 2016 to be the pastor of St. Mark's and St. John's UCC's in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Pastor Dave is eager to see how God is working in and through the congregations he feels blessed to serve today!
Secretary: GAYLE OLDEN
Gayle has been a life-long member of St. Mark's UCC. She is a graduate of Lebanon High School class of 1960; and also of the Reading Business Institute with a Medical Secretary degree. She worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist at a family practice in Annville, PA. In April of 2016, she became the church secretary here at St. Mark's.
Director of Music: Peter Pyles Sr.
Peter N. Pyles, Sr., has a B.A. from Lebanon Valley College, and an M.S. from Shippensburg University. He also studied conducting under the late Virgil Alexander, former director of the Milton Hershey Glee Club, and one time Assistant Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Mr. Pyles has been directing church choirs since June of 1962, having served in the Episcopal, E.U.B.(now United Methodist), Lutheran, and U.C.C. churches. He has been the Director of Music at St. Mark's UCC since April 2007.
ORGANIST/ACCOMPANIST: JAMES BIEVER
Jim has been a church organist since 1980. During that time he has held the position of church organist at St. John's United Methodist Church and Tabor UCC in Lebanon, PA, while substituting at numerous other churches in the area. Since 2006, Jim has held the position of Organist at Frieden's Lutheran Church in Myerstown, PA. He has been the organist here at St. Mark's since May 2016. Jim's organ training occurred under the nurturing tutelage of Ruth Killian. He retired in 2013 after a 25 year career with the Pennsylvania State Police. Since retirement, he has been busy with his polygraph business, JB Truth Consultants, his volunteer work for the homeless, and the Lebanon Rescue Mission. Jim is married to Michelle and has 2 daughters, Suzanne and Noel.
