Pastor: Rev. David A. Jones

Pastor Dave began his journey into ministry in 2002.  Before he became a pastor, Dave worked in restaurants, loaded and unloaded tractor trailers, worked in landscaping, and worked at a printing company.  When God's call into ministry became clear, Pastor Dave earned a bachelor degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix (Pittsburgh Campus) and attended seminary at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.  Over the years, Pastor Dave has served as youth director/associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Irwin, Pa., as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Jeannette, Pa., and as student pastor at North Congregational United Church of Christ
in Columbus, Ohio.  Upon graduation from seminary in 2009, he served as chaplain at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, before he accepted the call to be pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville, Ohio.  He served Trinity UCC for 6 1/2 years until he accepted the call  in 2016 to be the pastor of St. Mark's and St. John's UCC's in Lebanon.  In August 2020, St John's UCC closed and Pastor Dave became full time pastor of St Mark's UCC.  Pastor Dave is eager to see how God is working in and through the congregation he feels blessed to serve today!

I was born and raised in Lebanon, Pa.  I attended Lebanon Valley College majoring in Music Education, Vocal performance.  During my time at LVC, I was selected for a group of singers to provide backup ensemble for Barry Manilow at Hersheypark Arena.
After graduation and short stint in the work force, I enlisted in the US Army.   I was sent to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to work as a Medical Specialist in pediatric oncology.  I married my wife, Debbie, in 1987 and when my contract reached its end, I ended my time in the Army to move back to Lebanon.
Upon return to Lebanon, I substitute taught and worked as a Certified Medical Specialist.  It was this time I started directing my first choir at St James Lutheran.  From St James, I went to my home church of Holy Trinity Lutheran.
In 1996, I saw a major life change as I had a major stroke.  Over the next 3 years, I underwent intensive PT, OT and speech therapy to relearn how to walk, talk, eat and get dressed again.  The hardest part was learning how to sing again.  During this time, I became the stay-at-home dad for our 2 children and the house husband.  We began worshipping at St John’s UCC Lebanon being named choir director in 2006 until they closed their doors in 2020.
In January 2026, I was named St Mark’s UCC Lebanon, choir director.
Debbie and I are blessed with 2 children (son – Chad, daughter – Ashley), 4 grandchildren – Zoey, Aiden, MaKenna and Carl and 1 great granddaughter, Delilah.
